BLUE CLASS

Thursday Trips

Every Thursday Blue Class gets to use the Farnley partnership vehicle, known as the "school car".  Last week Avah and Billy went to Pudsey Park and were brave enough to try out the playground equipment!

Professional Dance

We enjoyed some focused 1:1 professional dance sessions recently.  Here we are relaxing and enjoying the interactions.

Art with Terri July 2018

We have really enjoyed art lessons with Terri this year. We have explored different materials with our hands and feet and at times we have got pretty messy!

Gallery of 2017-19

We have had a brilliant, busy, fun-packed, hardworking 2017-18 in Blue Class.  Here are some pictures to show what we have achieved.  We are sorry to say goodbye to two of our classmates and wish them well as they move up to Green Class in September.

Space Event - Yamsen

Jack, Jamima, Maddie, Ibrahim and Avah had a fabulous time at the Space themed YAMSEN event at Pudsey Civic in May 2018.  They were "over the moon" with the activities!

Special Olympics August 2017

We had a fantastic time at the Special Olympics 2017 National Games in Sheffield, August 8th and 9th. Here we are leading out the Yorkshire and Humber delegation during the opening ceremony! We made everyone proud at the MATP challenge event where all our families were there to watch and cheer us on.

Special Olympics Sponsored Event 2017

Some of the Blue Class students were pictured showcasing their skills at the Special Olympics Sponsored Event in March 2017. Jack is now skilled at throwing the ball from either a standing or sitting position.  Ellie can now roll a ball from her knees or pick up and drop a small ball. Well done to both students, excellent progress!

The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations

Students at our Farnley Academy site really enjoyed being part of the Queen's birthday celebrations on Monday 13th June 2016.  They were invited to celebrate in style, taking part in a wonderful tea party with attire very fitting to the purpose.  Lots of flag waving and smiles all round.  A truly memorable occasion for all involved.

Summer Term Update 15-16

This term's theme is environment and we are exploring "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" by Michael Rosen. We have been very busy looking at all the different sorts of environments we have to go through on the way to finding the bear. Here are a few of the things we have done:

  • making edible mud.
  • painting mud, snow and a beautiful day
  • creating a deep cold river
  • discovering how grass feels in school and outside
  • going on our own bear hunt!

Spring 2015-16 Newsletter

Lots of exciting things have been happening in our Farnley Academy partnership during the Spring term.  Please see the attached Newsletter for further information.

Stanningley Fire Station Visit

Our last visit linked to the Journey Home From Grandpa's book was the fire station. We all got to try on a fireman's hat and uniform and we saw a fire engine close up with its lights and sirens blaring. We got a bit wet when we turned on the water hose!

The Journey Home from Grandpa's

As part of our transport theme we read "The Journey Home From Grandpa's". Chippendale Plant Hire kindly allowed us to visit and we were able to see lots of diggers like the one in the story. Look how small we are next to the huge equipment! We had a great time and we each took home a goodie bag to remind us of the trip.

Mother's Day Marmalade

In Blue Class we made marmalade for Mothers Day. Here are pictures of us preparing all the ingredients and mixing everything together. We gave the finished product to our mums.

Christmas Decorations

We made self-portrait decorations to hang on the Christmas tree. Can you guess who is who?

Art Competition Entries

We have worked hard on our entries for the YAMSEN art competition. The theme is Winter and we painted scenes of grass peeking through snow on the ground. We then chose sparkles, shiny paper or glitter to make the snow glint in the sun!

Sensory Experiences

At the Farnley Partnership we have a mobile sensory trolley which can be moved to different classes.  Blue class enjoy interacting with staff around the different lights.

Our trip to Tropical World

We like to learn outside too!

We made footprints for our Father's Day cards and found out who is ticklish!
