PE - Working in Partnership

West SILC works in Partnership with a  number of other agencies with regards to PE, Sport and physical activity.

Youth Sports Trust.

West SILC is a Youth Sports Trust Inclusion School (previously Project Ability). This involves the school working to support and enable other schools across the county to provide high quality PE sport and Physical Activity to children and young people with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Special Olympics.

Special Olympics is the third arm of the Olympics family. It is a charitable organisation that supports and promotes meaningful sports participation and competition for people with an intellectual disability. Our Farnley partnership ship site is a accredited Special Olympics Club running their Motor Activities Training Programme with our students with Complex and Multiple Learning Difficulties.

Active Schools.

Active Schools is a branch of Leeds authority that is working with schools across the city and the PE and Sport Premium to develop a high quality of PE, sport and physical activities for children and young people across Leeds through the support and training of school staff and by organising high standard sporting events and competitions. Our PE subject lead works directly for Active Schools 4 days a year to support the growth and development of a high quality offer for the special schools in the city including a high standard sporting events and competition calendar for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
